OUR STORY begins with the familiar phrase "Where there is a will there is a way". We were just finishing a major renovation on our home and decided to convert an over size attic to a home theater. Naturally, like most folks doing renovations, we were way over budget. Fortunately, I had already purchased some of the electronic equipment before the start of the renovation. Unfortunately, I had yet to buy the theater seating.
When we went to look at home theater seating with attached cup holders and trays, we got some serious sticker shock!!! We needed seven recliners and even the cheapest ones were priced at $700 each because of the cup holders and trays. I had seen some great well known name recliners without cup holders and trays on sale for $300 each including tax. Now all I had to do was convince my wife that spending $2,100 was much better than spending over $5,000 with tax.
I don't know if it was luck, divine providence or clean living, but I came up with the idea for a table with built in cup holders that sits between two recliners or chairs or next to one. The best thing about the design is that the table comes in a kit and needs no tools to put together. It is so easy that one can put it together without directions.
With all our savings we were able to nicely decorate the home theater which made us very happy.
Our tables became so popular with our friends, that my wife and children decided to start a company with the very long motto of " A company started by consumers and dedicated to fair price, high quality and easy to assemble products that save you money just by buying them". That is how the Table Server was born.
We also called our home theater attic the "Third Floor" and that is why we named our company "Third Floor Designs" |
